Armenia has two major international airports, one in the capital city Yerevan (Zvartnots International Airport, the largest and the busiest too!) and the other in Gyumri (Shirak International Airport, second largest in Armenia). If you are a lover of long train journeys, you can reach Armenia by train from Georgia (Tbilisi - Yerevan, Batumi - Yerevan)

Must-Do Things In Armenia

Visit Yerevan - The capital city is a great place to begin your Armenian trip. Known for its rich history, it is the home for the iconic Republic Square that reminds you of the Soviet victory in the Second World War. There are also other important places like the Cascade Complex, Genocide Memorial, Blue Mosque. Don’t miss drinking some cold water from the Pulpulak. 


Visit Gyumri - It’s a city that dates back to the 1800s. Known for its stunning architecture, the city was hit by two major earthquakes in 1926 and 1988 and has got a fresh look with creative projects and modern cafes.


Visit Tsaghkadzor Ski Resort - A popular winter destination, Tsaghkadzor is known as the country’s ski capital. It attracts tourists across the globe who love skiing and snowboarding. The cable car ride is definitely a must-go if you want to enjoy some spectacular visuals.


Visit Amberd Fortress - Just an hours drive from Yerevan you can reach the magnificent Amberd Fortress. It was one of the primary defense points of the Armenian Kingdom. The view from the top of the fortress is breathtaking and you will be running short of words to describe the experience. 


Visit Shikahogh State Reserve - It’s the second largest forest reserve in Armenia. It’s still largely untapped and is home to some rare flora and fauna. Along the way, you will see some beautiful waterfalls that will make you fall in love with nature again.


Local Delicacies -  Armenian food is a melting pot of cultures. It has got so many flavours and you will be spoilt for choice. Even the normal foods like tabbouleh, dolma and kebab will have an Armenian twist to them. Some of the popular dishes are lavash (flatbread), lamb and eggplant served with a glass of wine.
